Intro to Wheel 1 - 6 weeks

Have you always wanted to learn to throw on the potter’s wheel? This class requires no previous throwing experience. It is taught in a small setting with plenty of one on one instruction time. Your class fee includes all instruction, use of equipment, clay, tools, glaze, and all firings costs.

INTERMEDIATE WHEEL THROWING: 6 SESSIONS

In this class, you will build on the skills from Wheel 1 and Wheel 2 courses (some students repeat Wheel 2 about 2-3 times before moving on to this section, depending on their skill level). You will learn new/different forms and further your throwing technique.

This intermediate class will be focused on all things drinking vessels including but not limited to: mugs, tumblers, tea bowls, sippers, and espresso cups.

Saturday Afternoons WITH Claire

Delecta-bowl!

This intermediate class will be focused entirely on the construction of bowls: cereal, pasta, decorative, berry, batter, and more and how to create size, functionality, and shape.

Hand Building - 6 weeks

This class will explore introductory techniques to handbuilding functional objects and requires no previous clay experience. You will learn coiling, pinching, and slab building in a small class setting. Your class fee includes all instruction, use of equipment, clay, tools, glaze, and all firings costs.

INTRO TO WHEEL II THROWING: 6 SESSIONS

Taken a class or two but not quite ready for intermediate? If you’ve learned how to center this six week class is designed to help you navigate a myriad of throwing skills and creative processes necessary to continue your wheel throwing adventures! We will focus on gaining height, balance, wall and foot thickness, tool proficiency and begin to explore the complexities of form and function.

Kids + Teens: 6 weeks

While all other courses are 18+, these respective classes are the perfect opportunity for teens (11-18 yr olds) and kids (5-10 year olds) to start their love of pottery! Students will have the opportunity to work on both the wheel and learn to hand build during these 1 hour and 15 minute classes. Students may repeat courses as many times as they like to continue developing their skills as classes are customized towards students’ interests.
